Copyright Policy

Filing a Copyright Complaint

Required Information for Reporting
A valid DMCA takedown notice must include the following:

Action Process
Upon receipt of a valid DMCA takedown notice, we will take the following steps:
- Acknowledge receipt of the notice within 48 hours
- Review the claim and verify the information provided
- Remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material promptly if the claim is substantiated
- Notify the user who posted the content (if applicable) and provide them with a copy of the takedown notice
- Provide the user with an opportunity to submit a counter-notification if they believe the takedown was in error
Counter-Notification
If you believe that content you posted was removed or disabled as a result of a mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notification to our designated agent. Your counter-notification must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature
- Identification of the material that was removed and the location at which it appeared before removal
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good faith belief that the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification
- Your name, address, telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court in San Francisco, California
Repeat Infringers
In accordance with the DMCA, TechBit has adopted a policy of terminating, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of users who are deemed to be repeat copyright infringers.
Good Faith
Please be aware that under Section 512(f) of the DMCA, any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material or activity is infringing may be subject to liability for damages, including costs and attorneys' fees. Do not submit a DMCA notice unless you have a good faith belief that the material infringes your copyright.
